Ultimate Moon Queen Guide

Introduction

Welcome to my Ultimate Middle moon queen guide. Moon queen is by far one of the best and early bloomer middle whats more to ask for? This is my first guide for Hon hero. She is an agility nuker using her abilities to deal damage. This guide is based mainly for people who are new to hon or any moba in general. The object of this guide is to build for ganker and nuker.

Pros / Cons

Pros

    Ungankable with shroud and her
Moon Beam
Level 6 nuker
Great ganker
Amazing synergy with heroes that have stuns

CONS
Shorter range than most ranged carry's
Early levels her q doesnt do much
Must be farming all the time or falls behind fast.
Doesn't do well without her ult.

Items

If your going mid start out with Bottle of Tears which helps out with staying in lane forever. After you use your bottle you may use a method called rune whoring is where you scout the runes every time they appear and you store them in your bottle by clicking on the bottle and then the rune which cause you to have 2 minutes to use the rune whenever you would like or at the end of the 2 minutes when the rune is automatically applied to yourself. After you use the rune your bottle is automatically filled up again, without ever having to go to the well or tar pit. After farming a bit head back to base to buy Marchers and a Soulscream Ring which is 950 gold total. Mid game buy Steamboots. Then you should buy a Shrunken Head which upon activation applies 10seconds of magic immunity and all the debuffs on yourself are dispelled. After your head start building a Whispering Helm which buffs survive ability for a lot less gold. Then start building an Assassin's Shroud this item causes you to go stealth for 9 seconds which helps to gank so much its unbelievable how many ganks you can pull of with this. Then your luxury items or the items which you get almost at the end of the game are Wingbow and Staff of the Master. Wingbow is a staple for all agility heroes it adds 30 agility the highest agility item in the game, then +32 Damage, +30 Attack Speed, +30% Evasion, evasion which is just like dodge. Staff of the Master a simple item but a unique twist. This item adds/modifies to the ultimate of moon queen. Increases number of Beams from 4/7/10 to 4/8/12. Increases maximum number of hits per target from 4 to 5. This is amazing for an ult that already hits for 1200 at level 1 on only one target. Overall the items provide a bit of gankiness, with a dash of survive ability then all out damage.

Abilities

Lets start with Moon Queen's abilites. Her Q Moon Beam is a simple nuke that causes damage and stuns the target for .6 seconds. This skill is alright at early levels. The stun is a bit weak but it allows you put in a couple of attacks. Her w Multi-Strike is her farmer and pusher. She can kill almost an entire wave of creeps at max level with 3 or 4 attacks on a single target. Her e Lunar Glow is a passive aura that increases the damage of nearby ally's including creeps or if toggled only affects heroes, but who wouldn't want to buff creeps at the same time? Her ultime Moon Finale is simply amazing. This ultimate is amazing when going 1v1 with no other creeps or enemies around. When around more than 1 enemy it randomly targets any enemy and uses a charge on it then moves to a second enemy. The combo is you Moon Beam then if they are still in range auto attack as much as you can and useing as many moon beams as possible then using her ultimate.

Gameplay

Early Game
Attack only to last-hit and deny. Use low-level Moon Beam to get last-hits if necessary. Your mana pool can handle it with Bottle.
When you push into the river, move up-river slightly to check runes every 2 minutes. Once you've ascertained the rune location, Bottle it. If opponent goes for rune, outrun him using your superior movement speed (320) and use Moon Beam to ministun if needed. Once level 5, use Moon Beam to harass. Keep at least 150 mana in stock for Moon Finale at level 6.
Apply pressure by placing yourself in offensive positions. Keep your opponent out of XP range. You are now the undisputed owner of all runes. Go after EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. If your opponent attempts to grab a rune, follow him, once you are in the river, use Moon Finale to kill.
The only heroes that have a chance to stop this are Thunderbringer and Pyromancer, who can nuke you to death despite your Bottle.
Mid Game
As the Moon Queen you are one of the most feared and despised gankers. As soon as you hit level 6, you are able to get free kills under most situations. It's most efficient to gank right after you've grabbed a rune. So alert your teammates to start applying pressure. Head towards the lane, emerge from the trees behind them with the rune active and give out a Moon Beam right away. If they're smart, they will try to dodge back into the creeps, where they'll probably die to your allies. If they're bad, or desperate, they'll continue running towards their tower. If there are no creeps there, press R and win.
Late Game
You're going to need a tank to draw fire, as well as AoE casters to disable and clear creeps. Unless they're out in the open, you should always allow your team to initiate. Remember that due to your team-clearing power, you'll be the prime target during the battle, so hang back and coordinate well, because once it starts, it'll end in seconds, either in your favor or theirs.
Tips
Always click a hero before you gank him. See what items he has. If he has a Teleport, save your Moon Beam for when he TP's, so you can cancel it with the stun.
You are, in general, the carry. That means you need kills. Go Kill Steal everything you can you have a good reason to.
As a squishy, you should always be aware of ganks. If there are heroes missing from other lanes, play defensively and be prepared to dodge.
Moon Finale's range is big. Keep in mind that you don't have to be at short range to use it -- however, you should make sure your opponent can't escape into fog.

Guide Discussion

seems like another good guide.

i wouldnt recommend strider on any carry especially moon queen since she is squishy all game long (till u get a satanic).
shrunken should be mq's core item and the first big one to be build. going shroud first wont help vs stun+cc+dust/eye.
not sure if orb effects proc on bouncing gleves but im pretty sure that nullfire is the wrong one. going whispering helm buffs ur surviveability by alot for much less money.

so i dont agree with your overall itemchoice-> would feed me as devourer alot.

i am curious how u guys can have such a good understanding of HoN's metagame and at the same time be so low on stats/mmr/psr. Oo
for example your kd is abysmal for playing 21% moon queen. you guys cannot escape 1500 mmr hell?^^

Wow thanks for the great response im going to try out what you said first then give you a reply to your item choiceI see what you mean about the striders so i change those with steamboots? and that does seem right about the shrunken head comeing first, i knew i was forgetting something in the order build.

Im sorry but have to disagree with the bottle as first it she is an easy target and therefor need some stats like minor token in the begining IMO

but otherwise a well written guide

Yeah, never get bottle first. Ever. You need to start with stat items.
When sidelane you should start with 2xDuckboots, 2xMinor totems, 1 runes of the blight and 1 mana pot or 1 health pot.

Going mid you should start with 3-4 minor totems and get a bottle after you get 3-4 creep kills.

Furthermore, just about everything is wrong with your items.

After starting items:

In a sidelane it's 2xSoulscream, boots, Ghost Marchers/Steamboots (Ghost is better but Steam is safer), Power Supply

In mid it's boots, upgrade boots

After that you get Whispering helm (BEFORE BKB so you can farm the jungle), BKB, Firebrand, Geos, Symbol of rage, Wingbow.

Assassin's Shroud is terrible on her. Yes, it allows you to make a monster ult, but when it comes right down to it, it's a DPS item. MQ doesn't need any dps items. Her 2 passives are REALLY strong, and will do most of the heavy lifting for her. She needs to build pure survivability.

Edit: Never mind. Just made my own guide.
